Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using TenantTales, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. We may update these terms at any time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use TenantTales. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement. To submit a review you must be or have been a genuine tenant at the property being reviewed.

3. Your reviews & content

You retain ownership of the review content you submit. By submitting a review, you grant TenantTales a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, display, and distribute that content on the platform.

You agree that all reviews you submit are:

• Based on your genuine, first-hand tenancy experience
• Truthful and not misleading
• Free from personal identifying information about other individuals
• Free from defamatory, harassing, or unlawful content

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe may expose TenantTales or any person to legal liability.

4. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

• Submit reviews for properties you have not personally rented
• Create multiple accounts to submit duplicate reviews
• Attempt to manipulate property scores or rankings
• Use the platform to harass, threaten, or identify any individual
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy platform data without written permission
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose

5. Aggregate & anonymised data

You acknowledge and agree that TenantTales may derive anonymised, aggregate statistical data from all reviews on the platform — including suburb-level score averages, rent benchmarks, and property condition trends — and may use such data for analytics, research, product development, and commercial purposes, including licensing to third parties.

Such aggregate data does not contain any personally identifying information and cannot be used to identify you or link any information back to your account or review.

6. Premium subscription

Premium features are available for A$3.99/month, billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

7. Intellectual property

All platform design, software, branding, and non-user-generated content is owned by TenantTales and protected by Australian and international copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the platform without our express written consent.

8. Disclaimers

TenantTales provides a platform for tenants to share opinions. We do not verify the accuracy of review content beyond confirming tenancy, and we make no warranties about the completeness, reliability, or fitness for purpose of any information on the platform.

The app is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, TenantTales excludes all implied warranties and is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
